Prezzybox

The project

Prezzybox and Menkind are well-established brands within the Gift Universe Group, one of the fastest-growing operators in the gifts and gadget industry. Starting their trading journey in 2002 as Menkind, the Group has established itself as a market leader within its sector. Achieving substantial growth over the years, the Group now has unrivalled reach into its markets through its omnichannel approach, with nationwide retail stores and multiple eCommerce channels.

The Gift Universe Group acquired Prezzybox in June 2022. The brand is primarily online with pop-up stores planned for peak trading, so they needed to ensure their website was up-to-scratch. The Group was looking to replatform Prezzybox post-acquisition, moving their site over to the same platform that Menkind uses, BigCommerce. Leaning on the BigCommerce team’s expertise to find the right agency partner, they highlighted Pinpoint as the perfect fit.

Replatforming at pace

Partnering with Menkind (Digital) we had two key pieces of work:

  1. Migrate Prezzybox onto BigCommerce
  2. Ongoing support to deliver a roadmap of feature enhancements for both Menkind and Prezzybox

With peak fast approaching, the busiest time of year for their brands, we were working against the clock to ensure their migration was delivered quickly. Mobilising a team efficiently and at speed was a priority. While we worked on their migration, we handed over the reins of their existing site to idhl Group agency, NetConstruct. This meant any issues on their site could be addressed by the NetConstruct team, freeing up Pinpoint’s time to work on their replatform. We also completed a code review, highlighting areas for site optimisation to improve speed and performance while their new site was under construction.

Building on existing foundations

Speed a priority, we duplicated the existing Menkind theme and functionality, adding Prezzybox’s branding to the design. Removing the need to create a new site from scratch meant we were on track to launch their website early in time for peak.

Alongside duplicating and rebranding Menkind’s site, we also looked at adding some new key functionality to their sites. Automating the management of personalised dropship orders was a priority for the brands. Menkind were manually handling the management of this for years and were looking to remove this manual work, saving time and efficiency. A time-consuming problem, MenKind didn’t have full visibility over order status or customer communications.

We created a fully automated solution that allows Menkind to export orders to their suppliers and receive information back – meaning customers are now in the loop on the status of their orders.

Adding content, key points and technical fields onto product description pages was a big pain point for the Menkind team. Using a proprietary app for content uploads, Menkind needed another way to access and amend their content once the app was decommissioned. Understanding the urgency of this, we rebuilt the app from scratch in a short timeframe, allowing them the ability to edit their content with ease and no downtime.

Launching one week ahead of schedule, their new site was ready and raring to go ahead of peak. Their Head of eCommerce, James Kraftman commented on the collaboration between Prezzybox and Pinpoint:
"The new site looks brilliant and orders are coming through without a hitch. A huge thank you to everyone who was involved and who contributed to the site going live ahead of schedule. The website doesn’t just look good, but works so well, with the new order management and content upload functionalities really making a difference. A massive well done to all involved!"
