SearchMetrics is a brilliant tool for any SEO company to use. We’ve been using the tool for competitor analysis, viewing traffic comparisons and for link analysis, but more recently, to gather backlink data for the purpose of link removal.
In this guide, we’ll run through how you can export a list of backlinks pointing to your website.
First, go to http://www.searchmetrics.com and sign up for an account (or alternatively login). Once logged in, type your domain name without the http://www. prefix, as this will search all variations of your domain.
Once the page has loaded, hover over the ‘Backlinks‘ tab and click ‘All Links‘
Once you’re on the next page, you can press the small plus icon (it’s very easy to miss) and select the ‘export’ option.
This will set an export running of all of your backlinks. This can take a few minutes to complete.
At the bottom of each page, you’ll see the toolbar that looks similar to above. Once the SearchMetrics system has completed gathering the data, your export will be available for download.
You can download the links in two file formats, but it’s really just down to preference!
